I'm turning 14 in a few months and I'd like to start planning out the basics of my party at this point so I'm not rushing around last minute deciding on things. So I'm starting to get into musicals and acting, I've seen Wicked twice which I LOVE haha and I'm thinking of joining my school's musical theater club thingy. So I decided I wanna do a Broadway musical-themed party. My friend and I have watched A Very Potter Musical and the Sequel (we're big HP fans lol), but my other friends haven't so I think we'll watch it on my Wii's internet so it'll be big and loud. Otherwise I'm not really sure what's gonna happen, we usually just hang out and get random ideas at our sleepovers.

So after watching AVPM/S on the big tv in the living room, we're gonna go downstairs in the basement and set up some blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, other bags etc. From there, it'll probably be around 9/10 pm, we'll be awake MUCH later haha so I want free time to just hang around but I'd like some activities too. I'm thinking of bringing a tv that we usually take in our RV and set it up downstairs, and we can play some kind of musical karaoke game (do they have that? for wii or ps2, or just the kind that plugs straight into the tv...). My friend who saw AVPM/S actually isn't into musicals but my other friends, I would guess, wouldn't be against it. So what can I do that will suit what she likes as well, I don't wanna leave anyone out.

How else can I incorporate the Broadway feel, with decorations, music, otherwise...? And ideas for the invite, maybe ticket stubs or something? Food should be easy because of the huge diversity of people, and foods as well, in NYC. So gimme any ideas you've got! Thanks! :)

First of all, what an amazing idea for a party!

Karaoke is a great idea and there are plenty of karaoke things for wii, ps2 and tons that just plug into the tv. You can sing musical songs and other songs for your friend that isnt into musicals.

For plates, you could use metalic gold or silver star shaped ones.

Invites- You could make the invite 'playbill' themed, like use the typical design of a playbill, but put the title as ___'s Birthday Party (well you can come up with a more original name xD) and on the inside, the cast would be whos coming, Instead of the theatre you would put your address......

I also found these websites, it has some pretty good ideas-

Have fun :)

Karaoke! Movie Posters! Have your guests dress up, hire a professional impersonator, get a Liza Minelli Cardboard cutout! Have sequins everywhere! Play different broadway films on every TV in the house, or move them all into one room and have a wall of broadway TVs! Makea broadway playlist if you have iTunes! Be really excited all the time! Sing everything you saaaaaaaaaaaay! Use exclamation points relentlessly!!!

I would love to do a Phantom Themed party. Like a maskurade party. and candles and mask, apple cider instead of wine, whole roased chickens, or big pieces of pork pastries, etc. Capes and dresses and gold looking decor...and add the dark rich decore of that of the phantom's xDDD

theres always plenty you can do xDDD
