So, we got a recorded message saying that two movies- which I returned on the same day and am positive that I returned had not been returned (2 weeks ago). I called and they checked stock and did not find anything. The "manager on duty" who apparantly is not really a manager and the real manager is out for a week and 1/2 said: "What do you want me to do? I don't have the movies here so that means that you have them." Now, I'm being charged for them- and I know that I returned them. Has anyone worked at blockbuster. My gut says that someone misplaced them- or quite possibly passed them to a friend before checking them back in. I hate being so cynical- but what else can I do? Does anyone have experience with this and the ability to offer some insight. Thanks!

I am a Blockbuster store manager and have seen this situation several times. Usually, the customer gave them to a friend to return and the friend misplaced them or took them to the wrong place to return, or the customer thought they returned them and actually forgot about them and found them months later behind the entertainment center, or whatever. However, if you know for a fact you returned them, gather as much information as you can to give to the store manager, and the manager can review the video surveillance. For example, if you know you handed them to a store employee on Thursday the 18th at around 9 p.m., the manager can look to see if you are on video doing so. If this still doesn't work, ask them when they will be doing a rental inventory. If your movies are in the wrong spot on the shelf somewhere, they will be scanned, and a "Found On Shelf" report will print up after their inventory is complete showing what items were on the shelf but not checked in. You can ask to see this report to see if your items were scanned during inventory. If this still doesn't work, ask for the corporate office number to call to complain. Usually a district manager will help you out to a certain extent with any charges.

I Agree..... Dolph Ziggler Vs. Rey Mysterio Was a Good Way To Start The show And Defiantly Drew In More Fans, A Very Back And Forth Match Which Gave Summer Slam A Good Start. The ending Was Great As Well. MVP Vs. Swagger Was OK But Couldn't Compare To The IC Title Match. I Actually Though MVP Was Rather Dissapointing And Wasn't As Good As Their Other Matches. Jeri-Show Vs. Cryme Tyme Was OK, The Wrestling was a Bit limited and I Don't Like The Way they Made Jericho look Rather Weak but Overall It Was a Good Match. Kane Vs. Khali - Well, It Wasn't The Perfect Match, Khali Ruined The Match at Several Points But At Least it Beat Their Match At Wrestlemania 23. William Regal Vs. Christian Was a Wasted Match Up Which Could Have been a Great Match. Ruined The Whole PPV. DX Vs. Legacy Was A Surprisingly Good Match Which Brought The Best out of Ted And Cody,Went On a Bit too long Though. John Cena Vs. Randy Orton Was OK But Why restart The Match So Many Times, Just To Have Randy Retain? Pointless If You ask Me. CM Punk Vs. Jeff Hardy Stole The Show, Both Wrestlers Shined And Undertaker's Return Was Great. Overall I Give it 7/10. Edit - Sorry I Forgot The Diva Battle Royal, It Was An OK Divas match, I Guess WWE Decided To put in a Divas Match At The Last Second. I Don't Understand Why Chavo Wanted Beth To win Though.

Yeah.. that happened to me once on a video game rental. The time went by and they charged me for the game. A couple weeks later I went in and lo and behold the game was on the shelf. It was the only copy of the game so I knew something was messed up. I immediately took the box to the counter and demanded reimbursement, which they did since they had no choice. The Blockbuster managers answer was good from his point of view, but in reality what happens is Blockbuster themselves misplace the returned videos before they scan them back in. I think they put them back on the shelves before they are scanned sometimes too. How else can it happen? Is it the only copy of the movie? If it is, go there and see if it's on the shelf. But in the future....when you take your movies back, don't put them in the drop box. Hand them right to the person at the counter and tell them to make sure they scan them back in. Make a note of the persons name and the day, date and time of day you returned the movies. Blockbuster is well known to blame the customer when it's the employees who screw up.
