I just got a new guitar and im unsure if my strings are to loose. the top three strings make a buzzing sound at the first fret. and the high e string buzzes also at the 9th fret. Also the high e string creates an F note at the twelfth fret meanwhile the string lowers to the thirteenth fret when i press on the twelfth fret. Of course if you dont already know the twelfth fret on high e is a e note as well.

I probably gave a bad description but oh well, ill just see what i can get.

Hello there,

This guitar has some issues. First as to string tension. If you are tuning the guitar strings to the proper pitch, the tension will be right. If you do not have an electronic tuner to check the pitch, you should get one. There are sites on-line that will give you the pitch to which to tune your strings.

Fret buzz. Sounds like one or more high frets. Lay a straight edge across 3 frets (and only 3 frets) at a time. If the straight edge rocks, the middle fret is high. Fret work takes some experience and proper tools. I do not suggest a beginner work on their frets. Take it to a shop and have a repairman level your frets.

Talk to you later,

I can think of four alternate possibilities: 1. You are not tuned to standard pitch. Solution: tune it. 2. You have a short scale instrument, so the strings are looser at standard pitch than on a normal scale length. Solution: heavier strings. (Norm, I don't mean the Squier is short scale, but this is a list of all conceivable situations under which the player might feel something they would interpret as lower tension, and I'm including everything.) 3. Your strings are too light a gauge to work well with your playing style. Solution: heavier strings. 4. The "different feel" is not related to string tension. Show the guitar to someone who knows guitars and ask if the setup needs improvement. It is also worth noting that beginners often confuse the way a guitar feels with the way it sounds (I wish I had a dollar for every horrible sounding guitar I've sold on the strength of a nice setup...). When did you last change your strings?

The buzzing could be your amp.

Don't you have an electronic guitar tuner ?

Did you get the proper strings?
